Make The Most Out Of Being Indoors

I’m sorry, but we’re going to have to address the C word – Coronavirus.

With the new guidelines, you’re twiddling your thumbs and thinking up ways to pass the time. However, rather than binge-watching an entire series on Netflix (easily done, we know) why not start pushing your business forward?

Now is the perfect time to focus on improving your business and future work life, but where do you start? We’ve compiled a list of actions you can take that will make a big change in your business:

1. Set your goals

You’ve got to start with the end in mind. Think about where you want the business to be in a year’s time and what being successful at that will look like. Do you want to grow the business? Get off the tools? Reduce your workload? Change the services you offer? Win more awards?

We’re here to help you become wildly successful, but that doesn’t mean just money. Success is defined by you.

And if you’re not sure where to start or have goals but don’t know how you’re going to achieve them, then download the FREE Success Building Productivity Planner below. Fellow landscaper Paula has tried and tested this template to take you from your initial goal ideas to actionable, realistic tasks and timelines.

This planner is just one section of our Planning & Mindset topic, where Paula talks about how she grew her landscaping business to consistently hit 5 figure months. Click here to view this and our other topics today.

2. Know your numbers

You have your goals, which may include spending some money on advertising to get more customers or hiring another member of staff, but do you have the income to support that?

Before you commit to anything it’s crucial that you know your numbers, including your cashflow, so you don’t put yourself in the red. Paula talks about cashflow and five other business practices you need to sustain growth in your landscaping business in the FREE Busy Landscapers Guide To Consistently Hitting 5 Figure Months.

3. Sort through your existing contacts

If you’re writing down enquiries on post-it notes, STOP! Instead, organise contacts into a simple spreadsheet with their contact details and the stage they’re at e.g. waiting for site visit, open quote, job booked in.

This not only helps organise your current workload, but also gives you lots of great ways to convert them into customers.

We talk about this in our blog ‘3 Hacks To Getting More Customers’, click here to view today.
